ANSYS Simulation World

ANSYS, one of the Beneficiaries of the MeDiTATe Consortium, organized a virtual free event entitled “ANSYS Simulation World”, whose idea is to inspire engineers, R&D, and manufacturing professionals about the transformative powers of engineering simulation. Many topics, such as the healthcare dedicated session, were presented and are of great interest for the Individual Research Projects of our Early Stage Researchers. The global event was held on May 18th, and it is now possible to view it on-demand at the following link: Home | Ansys Simulation World 2022
Meeting and Course at SINTEF in Trondheim

From May 3rd to 6th SINTEF welcomed the MeDiTATe Consortium in Trondheim, Norway. On May 3rd a one-day progress meeting took place in hybrid modality. In this occasion the Steering Committee presented the status of the project, while each Early Stage Researcher had the opportunity to share the progresses of her/his own Individual Research Project. Between May 4th and 6th SINTEF organized a course about software and tools for Image Guided Therapy (IGT), as part of the MeDiTATe training programme. The Early Stage Researchers had the opportunity to learn more about tracking technologies, registration techniques and navigation systems for IGT. They attended introductory lectures about software frameworks and software development for IGT. The last part of the course focused on image-guided endovascular therapy, with a practical session with clinical simulators for endovascular repair.
Visiting Fondazione Toscana Gabriele Monasterio in Massa

Last April, Simona Celi and BioCardioLab team (Fondazione Toscana Gabriele Monasterio) welcomed Marco Biancolini (University of Tor Vergata), Laurence Rouet (Philips), and Marta Bracco (ESR 13). An intensive experimental session was carried out to acquire Doppler images of a AAA phantom manufactured by Maria Nicole Antonuccio (ESR 14), which is currently hosted by BioCardiolab. The model was plugged to a hybrid mock-up circulatory loop system, which is part of the research activity of Francesco Bardi (ESR 10), to mimick the blood flow inside the vessel. Both Color Doppler and B-mode ultrasound cineloops were acquired and will be employed in the projects of ESR 14 and ESR 13. Moreover, Maria Nicole and Marta had the chance to discuss and brainstorm with three of their supervisors.
A new Partner for the MeDiTATe project: Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon

SINTEF will present the MeDiTATe project at the 33rd Annual Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (SMIT) Conference

The MEDITATE project will be represented by partner SINTEF at the 33rd Annual Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (SMIT) Conference. SINTEF, in collaboration with the local hospital (Future Operating Room at the Research department), is responsible for organizing a session related to the future operating room and allied technologies. Thomas Langø at SINTEF will describe on-going projects related to image-guided procedures, including endovascular therapy and MEDITATE activities (mainly related to ESR 11, Monica Emendi, and ESR 12, Eirini Kardampiki).
