PhD Programme

The offer of the MeDiTATe project’s programme

14 Early Stage Researchers are enrolled in the Doctoral Programme of three international universities as follows:
  • UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI ROMA “TOR VERGATA“: at Universita’ degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata, a specific “MeDiTATe” PhD track, with title “Advanced CAE tools, Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality and Haptic Devices for the Medicine 4.0” will be activated in the Doctoral School IPRI (Design, Manufacturing and Operations Engineering).
  • NATIONAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS: at the National Technical University of Athens, students follow a programme of postgraduate courses and/or research, leading to an original and significant contribution in science and technology. Courses are optional for those who already possess an MSc degree and are defined by the Advisory Committee of the PhD student (i.e. the ESR).
  • MINES Saint-Étienne: the doctoral school of MINES Saint-Étienne, entitled EDSIS, is affiliated to Université de Lyon and all the ESR will graduate with a PhD from Université de Lyon. EDSIS is a multidisciplinary doctoral school that provides training principally within the fields of the engineering sciences, information and communication technologies and sciences, health and biology. 80 PhD degrees are delivered every year. EDSIS offers an especially rich scientific environment favorable to doctoral training in the context of the Euro-metropolis of Lyon-Saint-Étienne, while offering students a particularly pleasant quality of life.
Each fellow can benefit from:
  • An in-depth training in the area of expertise of the two hosting organizations over and above, secondments of shorter duration to other partners having complementary skills.
  • Ten workshops as well as winter and summer schools and courses, on specific aspects relevant to overcome the identified inter-sectoral barriers.
  • A Training Manager in the Management Board, to ensure a balanced, complete and timely-correct training programme.
  • A schedule designed to engage in project management, preparation of and presentations at workshops and representation at the Supervisory Board.
  • A unique environment, fostering a truly international approach to research.
  • An excellent training in the Digital Twin domain.
  • Working in the industry for at least 50% of the time.
  • Being jointly supervised for the whole PhD school by an academic and an industrial advisor.
