The Consortium is proud to announce that the MeDiTATe project will participate in the 33rd Annual Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (SMIT) Conference (May 30-31, Oslo, Norway).
Early Stage Researcher 11, Monica Emendi, will be presenting the work entitled “Electromagnetic tracking-based estimation of target landmarks in abdominal aorta during endovascular aneurysm repair”. In this study, the feasibility of using electromagnetic (EM) tracking data for image registration during EVAR has been explored. As an alternative to fluoroscopy, EM sensors embedded in the tip of the catheters have been considered for navigation purposes. The possibility to use EM data to infer the intra-operative aortic deformations has been studied experimentally using patient-specific 3D printed models.
Congratulations, Monica!!!
